The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday submitted names of nominees to take over from David Nweze Umahi and his deputy to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The PDP Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu disclosed that the party submitted the names of Hon. Iduma Igariwey as governor and Fred Udogu as a deputy to INEC in line with the judgment of the federal high court delivered earlier today.
Ayu stated this while addressing a world press conference at the PDP National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja on Tuesday.
The party also submitted names of those to replace the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and 16 other members.
African Voice Television recalls that Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo, held that the total number of 393, 042 votes governor Umahi secured during the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Ebonyi state, belonged to the PDP and same could not be legally transferred to the APC
